AT TANGO NORTHSIDE we offer classes for all dancers, from novice to advanced. We deeply value the art and culture of Argentine Tango, and strive to help our students develop the skills necessary to access the benefits of this rich and rewarding social dance. Lessons are progressive with an emphasis on strong fundamental principles.

NEW FLEXI-PASS
Plan for Fall 2026
We're making it easier to learn! As of OCT 1, our new Flexi-Pass will allow students to attend any 7 classes of their choice on their given class night. For example: Monday Intro students can drop in to any Monday class up to 7 classes (students wanting to continue will purchase a second pass). Passes are valid for 3 months from the date of the first class attended. Take the classes that fit your schedule! SEE BELOW and the registration page for more info.
Foundations A: Intro to Argentine Tango
MONDAYS beginning Oct 5
7:30-8:45pm
$100/person for 7-class Flexi-Pass

PLEASE NOTE: This information supercedes our previously published Fall Intro schedule and fees.
For those new to tango and newer repeating students — no prior dance experience is necessary! In this class, we will introduce new dancers to the essential basics: the tango embrace, traditional tango music, foundational figures, and the basics of navigating a social dance floor. This is also a great class for any dancer who wants to refresh their basics or learn a different role. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring thick socks to dance in!
Partners are not required, but it's great if you bring one! Students without a partner will be paired with another dancer, possibly of the same gender, and if so will learn how to both lead and to follow. Advance registration and payment is required to join this class.

Tango Foundations B
TUESDAYS beginning Oct 6
7:30pm - 8:45pm

$100/person for 7-class Flexi-Pass
(Drop in to any 7 classes of your choice)
For students who have graduated from Foundations A or are at a similar place in their development.
In this class, we will introduce dancers to double-time rhythm and to a set of foundational figures we call The Sweet Five. Developed at Tango Northside, this set of enjoyable, challenging, simple figures will enable dancers to have a successful and satisfying tango experience while building their dance skills. We will pair these figures with the rhythmical orchestras of Argentine Tango.
No partner needed. Students without a partner will be paired with another dancer.

Tango Foundations C+
THURSDAYS beginning Oct 1
7:30pm - 8:45pm

For students who have been in Foundations C for at least a few months, and for Post-Grad students
We will continue to rely on patterns taken from Foundations B and Foundations C. We will also review and practice the basic patterns and techniques and movement of the follow's dance (for both leads and follows). The classes are designed around important themes that are integral parts of the social dance of tango, sure to be enriching to students at both levels. Our first theme for September and October: rhythm patterns.
